Sandra Hordatt's standout section, BOTANICA, truly captured the essence of a botanical paradise with its blooming flowers in shades of purple, pink, and green, making the costumes look like they were plucked straight from a lush, vibrant garden. Rhion Romany also designed multiple sections, with FORTRESS being a showstopper, featuring intricate gold and chain link details that will undoubtedly dazzle on the road.
Show-Stopping Moments
On the night of the launch, the standout costume was undoubtedly IBIS by Trishelle Leacock. Worn by Glam Girl Marissa Williams, this costume was inspired by Trinidad's red Ibis bird. The fiery design, with vibrant red hues and elaborate feather details, looked absolutely stunning against Marissa's skin, promising to be a sensational sight under the Trinidad sun. Everything about this costume screamed perfection, and they definitely chose the right model to showcase its beauty.
The WOW Connection
The Spirit Mas team is part of Trinidad's party syndicate WOW Events, known for hosting some of the most talked-about events like SOAKA Street Festival, SOAKA, and Pinknic. We all know SOAKA Street was one of the most epic parties of last season, and Pinknic definitely one of the prettiest. Reflecting on Spirit Mas’s debut at Trinidad Carnival 2024, the feedback from masqueraders was overwhelmingly positive. The attention to detail, excellent communication, and seamless costume collection process were highlights for many. One masquerader shared, "I played with Spirit Mas, and it was fantastic. A lot of people were intrigued by this band, but nervous about taking the plunge. Ultimately, our trust and faith was not misplaced or misguided and it culminated in an outstanding carnival."
Spirit Mas has set the bar high for 2025, building on their inaugural success with even more stunning designs and an impeccable experience for their masqueraders.
