4. Crop Over 2015

By 2015, it was rumoured that Rihanna attended Carnival every other year and it became somewhat of an expectation that the Pop Queen could be popping in. For Rihanna, it was more like a home coming and she would be gyrating with old friends and family members on the road. By this time the "B$tch Better Have My Money" songstress had already proven to the world that she was a Mega Star with multi-platinum albums.

5. Crop Over 2017

Rihanna's 2017 Crop Over look is arguably one of her most iconic. Designed by renowned Trinidadian-born, Barbados-based designer Lauren Austin for Aura Experience Band, it captivated global media and fans alike. The turquoise wig, iridescent pink and green rhinestones, and vibrant feathered plumage created a stunning spectacle. Her soft makeup perfectly complemented the look, embodying the essence of Carnival is Woman. This unforgettable appearance coincided with her breakup with Drake and the release of her hit song "Wild Thoughts"

6. Crop Over 2019

In 2019, Rihanna skipped Crop Over, confirming a pattern of attending every other year. But when she did return, she made a statement with a playful pink feathered skirt, heels, bantu knots, and light green sunglasses. Notably, 2018 marked the year she was appointed an official ambassador for culture and youth in Barbados. Throughout her global success, Rihanna has proudly retained her Bajan accent, and her music, while diverse, always carries echoes of her Caribbean roots.

7. Crop Over 2024

In 2024, Rihanna made a triumphant return to Crop Over, captivating onlookers with a custom costume dripping in gold and bronze jewels. This marked her first appearance since 2019 due to the pandemic. She returned not just as the pop star we know, but as a businesswoman, a mother, and a cultural icon. With an estimated net worth of $1.4 billion, largely due to the success of Fenty Beauty, Rihanna's presence at Crop Over was a powerful statement of her achievements and her enduring connection to her Barbadian roots.

The Legacy Continues

Rihanna's presence at Crop Over is more than just a celebration of her heritage; it's a testament to her influence and the festival's rich culture. As Barbados' Ambassador Extraordinary, she continues to promote her island's traditions.
