Glam Hub does not take credit for the makeup or hair in this photo
Ladies, gather around because I’ve got some tea to spill—and it’s all about Kalista Genevieve! You may know her as a Carnival model, fitness coach, or TikTok sensation, but to the Glam Hub team, she’s a certified Glam babe and a multiple-time repeat customer. Kalista is redefining what it means to be glamorous while keeping it 100% authentic. Whether she’s rocking barely-there costumes or dropping fitness gems, she’s the girl we all want to be BFFs with. Let’s dive into her story!
Carnival Queen or Content Creator?
So, how did Kalista’s glow-up journey begin? She’ll tell you it all started during the Covid lockdowns. "Everyone was downloading TikTok," she laughs. What began as voiceovers and hopping on trends quickly became a whole movement. But her Carnival modelling career? That’s thanks to Rawle Permanand, the legendary designer who saw her potential and booked her first shoot for Miami Carnival. "From then on, I’ve been modelling Carnival costumes," she shares. And honestly, we’re so glad she did because the costumes? ICONIC. The vibes? Immaculate.
Barely-There Costumes: Empowerment or Objectification?
Okay, so let’s talk about the elephant (or should I say feathers?) in the room: the revealing costumes. When asked about the debate on whether Carnival costumes are too revealing, she doesn’t hold back: "No one is forcing you to wear anything. There are options, from wire bras to padded bras and full costumes. People who think costumes are too revealing probably haven’t stepped foot into a mas camp." Preach, girl! She’s all about choice, culture, and, most importantly, owning your look. "Wear what makes you comfortable and own it on your own terms," she adds.

Foodie Meets Fitness
Now, for the million-dollar question: how does Kalista balance staying fit while indulging in all the Carnival food? "It’s about moderation," she says. As a health coach, Kalista teaches her clients that food isn’t the enemy. "If you label something as ‘bad,’ you’re just going to feel guilty when you eat it. During Carnival season, I’ll enjoy everything—especially fried chicken and fries—but I don’t overdo it." Honestly, this is the energy we need: a queen who loves her food but still looks fire in her costume. Balance, babes, balance!
But even, where does one get the motivation to workout at home if going to the gym is not an option
"The answer is simple and annoying 😅 It’s NEVER motivation, it’s a habit built. Similar to brushing your teeth & bathing. If you don’t do those things you kind of stink right? 😅
It's the same concept for me and getting my workout in. Another angle to look at it is….Are you motivated to go to your job? Most might say no but they go anyway because if they don’t they won’t get paid. Moral of the story…..GET TO WORK!" 😉✌🏼💜

Spirit of the Mas: From Trinidad to Jamaica
Kalista’s Carnival journey has taken her from Trinidad to repping GenXS in Jamaica, and let’s just say she’s got stories for days. "Trinidad will always have my heart, but Jamaica’s vibes is something special," she says. And we have to agree! The energy, the culture, the music—it’s unmatched. Shoutout to Carnival Glam Hub for making sure she’s always flawless, no matter the island.
J’ouvert Madness
When it comes to J’ouvert, Kalista’s most unforgettable experience was in Grenada. "It was a culture shock, but in the best way possible," she says. From the paint to the mud to the sheer chaos of it all, Grenada’s Jab J’ouvert left a lasting impression. But don’t get it twisted—she’s not about that messy aftermath. "I’ll do it for a Carnival that has J’ouvert on one day or a J’ouvert fete, but that’s about it," she admits. We’re with you, girl. Controlled chaos, please!
Carnival Fit
Fitness is life for Kalista, but she’s all about keeping it real. "It’s about consistency, not perfection," she says. Her approach? Don’t obsess over aesthetics; focus on feeling good and having energy. "The reward is that you look damn sexy in your costume. So why not?" she laughs. And honestly, isn’t that the goal? Feel amazing while doing it.
The Future of Carnival
With social media playing such a big role in Carnival now, Kalista believes the culture is evolving, but it’s up to us to keep the essence alive. "Carnival isn’t just about playing pretty mas. It’s about freedom, revelry, and culture. We have the tools to show the world what Carnival really is, but it’s our responsibility to keep the spirit alive." Can we get an amen?
